"Twilight: Eclipse" - Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart
Need I elaborate? This whole "Twilight" thing brings about quite the battle within me. On the one hand I say, to each his own and who am I to judge you, Crowd of Minions, for going nuts over a harmless things such as this? On the other hand I say, "Twilight" might be the main cause of the downfall of American society. I saw the first "Twilight" and quickly decided it was simply not for me, nor any other straight male. I hope that in 10 years the groupies will be able to look back realistically and admit how terrible these things really are, but I'm not betting on it.
This will be the first M. Night Shyamalan film that I will not be watching in the theater at the first opportunity. I have been an M. Night disciple from the beginning. I was mezmerized by "The Sixth Sense," like "Unbreakable" way more than anyone else, hold "Signs" as one of my favorite movies of all time, and truly appreciate the intricacies of "The Village." "Lady in the Water" left me scratching my head, though, and "The Happening" was truthfully one of the 25 worst movies I've ever seen. (See, Twilighters, it is possible to admit your mistakes.) I want so badly to be excited for "Airbender" but there's just no way. The reviews have been poor to very poor and the shots from the trailer look like something out of an early 90s video game movie like "Super Mario Brothers." I think it was a shrewd decision to secure a PG rating and that combined with the "Last Airbender" fanboys will force this thing to make a profit. But I do not hold out hope for a good movie.
