The Losers (2010): Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Idris Elba, Chris Evans
Based on a graphic novel, "The Losers" are a collection of ex-military types who set out on a mission to clear their names and exact revenge. Basically, it's "The A-Team" without anywhere near the amount of fun. "The Losers" isn't bad exactly, it just doesn't quite click. The real drawback is a sub par villainous turn by Jason Patric. Didn't love it.
I know I shouldn't want to see this movie and yet every time I saw the trailer, I hid my face, shook my head in disgust (at myself), and then shamefully laughed. I'd be much more interested if not for these four words: "directed by Kevin Smith." I cannot stand Kevin Smith and find his self-importance to be only slightly less maddening than that of John Travolta. Still, though, I can't shake this idiotic desire to see "Cop Out" against my better judgment.
The Runaways (2010): Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning
Just your typical coming of age in a band story, this one focusing on Joan Jett and co. I heard a few good things about this but I just don't care. Outisde of "Into the Wild", Kristen Stewart does nothing for me and that sentiment goes for wanna-be grown up Dakota Fanning. Sure, Joan Jett is a legend, but I'm just not interested in the slightest.
And that's it. Another lackluster Tuesday in the sad year that is 2010.
