Box Office Monday!

Well "Salt" brought in its fair share of cash this week but "Inception" held the top spot as viewers went back for a second helping of Chris Nolan's awesome heist thriller. I said on Friday that I was very interested to see how much "Inception" would drop and I'm pleased to report that the second weekend run saw only a 30% drop from last week's totals. In this day and age, that's an outstanding figure. "Despicable Me" also held on strong and even got my money this week (review forthcoming). All in all, a solid weekend for such a retched year.

1. "Inception" - $43.5 million ($143.7 million total)
2. "Salt" - $36.5 million
3. "Despicable Me" - $24.1 million ($161.7 mil total)
4. "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" - $9.7 million ($42.6 mil total)
5. "Toy Story 3" - $9 million ($379.5 mil total)
6. "Ramona and Beezus" - $8 million
7. "Grown Ups" - $7.6 million ($142.4 mil total)
8. "Twilight: Eclipse" - $7 million ($279.7 mil total)
9. "The Last Airbender" - $4.2 million ($123.3 mil total)
10. "Predators" - $2.9 mllion ($46.6 mil total)
