I cannot remember a Major Movie Weekend (Christmas, Memorial Day, Independence Day, etc.) that had less to offer me than this one did. The idea of seeing either "Twilight 3" or "The Last Airbender" on opening day makes me want to throw up in my mouth. This installment of the "Twilight" series is being called the best of the three so far but still only receiving below average reviews and "Airbender" might be a shoe-in for Best Picture Winner...at the Razzie Awards. Still, the hype was big and there was a lot of money to be made.
1. "Twilight: Eclipse" - $69 million
2. "The Last Airbender" - $40.6 million
3. "Toy Story 3" - $30.2 million ($289 million)
4. "Grown Ups" - $18.5 million ($77.1 million)
5. "Knight and Day" - $10.2 million ($45.5 million)
6. "The Karate Kid" - $8 million ($151.5 million)
7. "The A-Team" - $3 million ($69.1 million)8. "Get Him to the Greek" - $1.2 million ($57.4 million)
9. "Shrek Forever After" - $799,000 ($232.2 million)
10. "Cyrus" - $770,000 ($1.5 million)
