Movie News Today

Universal has signed on for to produce three movies and a TV series based on Stephen King's "The Dark Tower." Ron Howard is even on board to direct. I'm shocked that it's taken this long for this to happen. Great subject material that could turn into outstanding films.

I know, I know. This is an ATROCIOUSLY written article. I completely agree. But I have a standing order to link any and all Nathan Fillion news that comes down the shaft. So, here you go.

Will Forte, who recently announced he would be leaving Saturday Night Live, discusses the move with JoBlo.com.

This is a pretty pretentious article (as I've come to expect from IFC) but the point remains: George Clooney is quite talented.

Yesterday it was reported that Martin Freeman (European "Office") had pulled out of the running for the role of Bilbo Baggins. Today we discover that MGM is so sold on the guy that they're trying to make it work for him.

In "You're Better Than This" news, Joel McHale ("Community" and "The Soup") has agreed to star in "Spy Kids 4." Joel, I'm all for you getting your moment in the sun; you certainly deserve it. But seriously, you're better than this. Everybody gets one but let's hope you move on to films that don't suck.
