"John Carter" Trailer

No Weekend Movie Guide this week because, honestly, I have nothing to say about the weekend's new choices that wasn't already said here. We'll be back next week. Instead, enjoy a new, full trailer for John Carter, set to debut in March. If nothing else you can never go wrong with using a Zeppelin song as your backing music, right?

And now for some Movie News Today...

The Joss Whedon produced Cabin in the Woods has a new poster and...well...I don't know what's happening here.

Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit) has officially signed on to play Petra in Ender's Game. As I said earlier this week, I'm super concerned about this project. However, they are assembling quite a cast. Good start...

Alice Eve will play a "major" role in the Star Trek sequel. Big year for Miss Eve!

David Milch, creator of Deadwood, is set to make a new HBO show based on the works of William Faulkner. Faulkner is hit or miss for me but I might hold up Deadwood as the best written show ever so, yeah, I'm in.

Tom Cruise has signed on to star in All You Need is Kill/We Are Mortals, a sci-fi film that Anomalous Material appropriately describes as Starship Troopers mixed with Groundhog Day. Works for me I guess.

Kevin Smith lashed out at the Independent Spirit Awards for failing to nominate his filmRed State, reminding everyone of why no one likes Kevin Smith. Please go away now, Kevin Smith.

The Outlet presents a very cool column concerning three Muppet-related conflicts. Definitely worth a read!
